Chairman' Desk
"An average person with average talents and
ambition and average education,
can outstrip the most brilliant genius in our society,
if that person has clear,
focused goals."
Justice S.N. Bhargava
The emerging challenges of legal education in India have impelled the judges, jurists and Advocates, including legal education thinkers, to respond very cautiously and effectively. In this process, the debate on the legal education, particularly, on the nature of law syllabi, has become and unending phenomenon, which is natural and also a demand of the day. The interests of down trodden to have legal aid and that of elites, including multinationals, are contradictory and hence reflecting in the debate on law course in India. The move towards creation of seperate Law Universities by some States introducing Five-Year course in the law has failed, particularly in terms of preparing the students for ideal judiciary, advocacy and law teaching, as this course has proved to serve the interest of multi-national corporations only. However, it may be accepted to some extent that in view of the special feature of Indian society, interests of have-nots and that of creamy layer need both the law courses, i.e. Three-Year course as well as Five-Years course.
The Vidyasthali Law College, a pioneer amongst Law Colleges in the city imparting instructions has set unique standards to both LL.B. (3 yr), B.A.,LL.B. (5 yr) Integrated Courses and LL.M. course since 2002, 2011 and 2017 respectively. Both the courses are affiliated to University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and recognised and approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
Qualitative class room performance and well equipped & information technology maintained library is there in the college. Day today performance of students is watched by alert, qualified, trained and dedicated team of teachers.
The periodical and regular publication of research journal having articles by the students, court visits, tour and excursions, computer lab and newly started result oriented job placement cell really make the Vidyasthali Law College an institution of global excellence and to face challenges in the next decade.
The Managing Committee is fully dedicated to make this college as an ideal seat of legal education and research not only at the national level but at the International level, too. With these aspirations, I welcome the faculty members, students, their parents and other legal luminaries to this pious cause.
